The only products that survived the hair product purge are my hair spray, shine serum and mousse. The only one I'm really addicted to is the shine serum, which is from Bath and Body Works and they don't make anymore. The only product I will miss is my wax, which is the only thing that keeps my super-cute bands all side swept like I like them. I'm adding that to the list of things that must be replaced ASAP.
My last project is sunscreen. I take my sunscreen very seriously. As previously mentioned, I am very fair and have quite a family history of skin cancer so I need a good everyday sunblock. I also love a lot of outdoorsy things that require a non-greasy, water-proof sunblock. Trying to hang onto your kayak paddle with a greasy mess on your hands is not easy. I have been using Coppertone Sport gel, which I like because it goes on and stays on and doesn't impede my grip. However, it takes my nail polish off, so that can't be good. I'm sure they test on animals as well.
I have been reading a lot about sunscreen, and what I've read is scary. For instance, Allie's Answers talks about the dangers of nanoparticles and potential harm to coral reefs and Enviroblog talks about the ineffectiveness and toxicity of 80% of sunscreens. I feel like I am going to have make a choice between adequate sun protection for my cancer-prone skin or non-toxic sunscreen that doesn't work as well as I would like. Having suffered several blistering sunburns through the years and realizing that melanoma is a particularly deadly form of cancer, I think I will probably have to go with the former. It doesn't seem fair that I have to choose between the two, but I guess life isn't fair. At least I have 8 months until the summer sports season starts again.

This will be a short post. More of a rant, actually. And hopefully useful to

Thanks for the link!
Nanoparticles are so scary!
Jason makes a wax that works pretty well. I think hair products are the hardest ones to switch over.
